The design arose from Karen and Alice's childhood memories of summers by the Swiss lakes. The illumination of the green algae and reeds lying below the surface of the water stayed so clearly in their minds, and is now materialised into a delicate yet distinctive pendant.

The warm champagne diamond, embraced by two wings, tells the story of the Preregrine Falcon, the fastest flyer in the world. Since nearly going extinct in the 1970s due to human activities, the birds' populations are slowly but surely coming back to rule the skies of the Swiss Alps once more.

We were both creating beautiful jewellery while challenging the way its materials are traditionally sourced. By bringing together clean-energy diamonds grown in Switzerland and gold recovered from electronics, we created a collection that reflects our shared belief that the future of fine jewellery can be both innovative and more responsible.

From source to stone

01. Grown in the Alps
In Muotathal, Switzerland, Ammil grows its diamonds using renewable energy, powered primarily by solar and hydropower from the surrounding Alpine region. Amongst the mountains, each diamond begins its journey.

02. The Diamond Seed
Every diamond starts with a tiny slice of diamond, known as a seed. Inside a CVD chamber, carbon-rich gas is transformed into plasma, allowing carbon atoms to settle onto the seed. Layer by layer, a new diamond crystal begins to grow.

03. The Grown Diamond
Over time, those layers form a rough diamond plate. At this stage, the diamond is fully grown, but still looks very different from the finished stone. It has yet to be cut, faceted and polished to reveal its brilliance.

04. Cut and Polished
The rough diamonds travel to Surat, India, where craftspeople cut and polish each stone. The facility is working towards a 50% female workforce, training women to become master polishers and providing fair wages significantly above industry averages.
