Returning to UCL to share our story
In preparation for our new bridal collection, we wanted to pause and look back on some of the highlights and particularly meaningful events hosted by Incador. The end of November 2025 was a busy one, from continuing to create bespoke one-of-a-kind commissions behind the scenes, to running two back-to-back events in collaboration with UCL societies, during which we got to share our story, reflect on our journey so far and hopefully inspire others to create their own.
An evening with the Ramsay Society
On the 24th of November 2025, we joined UCL’s Chemical Engineering (the Ramsay Society) for a relaxed and welcoming evening where we shared how Incador came to be. Karen had begun by studying chemical engineering at UCL, once engaging with the very same society. It was a full circle moment to be able to come back and explain how, although she pivoted to the world of fine jewellery, her degree provided her with a lot of tools and knowledge she still applies today at Incador.
During the bingo-centred on electronic recycling, we introduced our Tech for Treasure program. We spoke about our electronics collection banks located around UCL campuses that collect end-of-life electronics and divert them from landfill. We also touched upon urban mining, the process of extracting valuable materials from electronic waste, with hopes of inspiring students to make meaningful and responsible change.
Entrepreneurship with the Entrepreneurial Society
On the 26th of November, we were invited to speak with the Entrepreneurial Society at UCL to a group of students full of drive, ideas and desire for entrepreneurship. Many of whom were very interested in starting their own business or had already done so.
As relatively new entrepreneurs ourselves, we spoke openly about our journey, our transition from engineering to luxury and the realities and challenges that come with building a business. During this inspiring evening, as before, we touched upon our UCL collection banks and were incredibly encouraged to hear from students who had already noticed them around and responded positively to the initiative.
Why does this matter?
What stood out most across both events was that these conversations were not just about sharing our journey and looking back at what we had done, but about informing and raising awareness about conscious and responsible business practices. Particularly meaningful was being able to speak to younger generations, who will soon be faced with similar issues and to offer them ideas and inspiration for how they might contribute to a more sustainable and ethical future.
We’re excited to continue these conversations and hope to host many more events in this new year.
